Woke up early this morning and busted out to check out the massive rock-hewn church complex here in Lalibela.
First impression of this place is quite strong. The churches were carved out of the bedrock. The sites are a living monument as people are worshiping at the churches every day. All night the church blares prayer chants across the town and valley. I am still learning about the history and traditions of this area. This first update I'll let the images speak for themselves, rather than interpreting them with text. Stay tuned for more updates within a few days. Enjoy!
