Just got in after a 10 day Rock Climbing Expedition. With nine 16-18 year old students, a fellow friend co-instructor and a bunch of food and gear, we set out to climb Dogtooth Peak. After a few days of basic rock skills training near Courtright Reservoir, we packed our heavy backpacks and headed to Hood Lake to stage ourselves for a climb to the north summit.
As a theme for course, we used the "Hero's Journey." The Hero's Journey gave us as instructors some clear checkpoints to design our course: the call to adventure, crossing the threshold, the ordeal, finding the treasure and finally the journey back home.
The visuals here focus on "the ordeal."

After a successful peak attempt on Dogtooth, we headed back to the Courtright area for a final group challenge: descending Helms Creek Canyon. The next few images show a bit from our adventure on Day 8.
