Starting in 2010, the Ithaca Youth Bureau and Cornell Outdoor Education have collaborated to create Treefest. The 3rd annual Treefest took place this Saturday at Stewart Park. More than 120 youngsters climbed into the canopy of Silver and Sugar Maple and Sycamore trees with a view of Cayuga Lake. Two canopy to ground zip lines, one Tyrolean traverse and one flying squirrel setup created some thrills while instructional sessions in Single-Rope-Technique and Doubled-Rope-Technique provided learning opportunities. A few slack lines provided some closer-to-the-ground entertainment. Enjoy the images below. If you were at the event and want to see more images, email me.
