Today a Tibetan Buddhist monk came to Manegau. At first the monk's assistants dug a hole, put corn, millet, and some coins in the bottom of the hole. Shortly there after the helpers raised a new flag pole with new prayer flags flapping in the mid-day wind. After the flag-raising, we sat in a small circle around the monk as he chanted many prayers, reading from texts written on oilpaper in Tibetan language. The end came as a bit of a surprise to me where each one of us was asked to sit close to the monk as he gave us all individual blessings. Quite a special moment. Josh took a sweet photo of me receiving my blessing.
