Todays excursion was inspired by Claire Blaxland's blog http://www.lakwatseradeprimera.com/ I did a google image search for 'Sorsogon' and found a interesting looking rock formation on Claire's blog and decided it was worth a trip. I took a nearly 2 hour jeep ride from the city center and got off at the Paguriran Island Beach Resort. Almost immediately I was impressed by overlapping and out-of-key karaoke, and realized that today was a national holiday. I plowed through the obtrusive noise and then headed across a beautiful white sandbar to the rock islands. The tide was coming in, so I made my images quickly before wading back to shore. A long jeep ride back to town. It was an interesting adventure, more experimentation with the home made ND filter. Enjoy these images! Thanks to Claire for the crucial logistical information.

As a side note, I'm fully stoked on the Filipino travel blogger websites as a way of gathering information on harder-to-reach places. The information is often very thorough, more accurate, more fun to read, and more up-to-date than the Lonely Planet. This is the sixth or so day trip I've taken purely on the advice from a blogger, and so far I havn't been disappointed.
